"When writing a novel, that's pretty much entirely what life turns into: 'House burned down. Car stolen. Cat exploded. Did 1500 easy words, so all in all it was a pretty good day."
— Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman speaks the truth.

I had a lot of things to get done today. I did maybe three or four of them - the washing up, for the record, was not one of the lucky chosen few. But one of them was starting NaNoWriMo. I haven't written a lot, and lord knows the words I have written aren't great, but I have begun, and even if the whole rest of the month is downhill from here, today just seems like such a good day. The sun was shining and the world was a pleasant place to be and I've been happy all day. Today was a good day.

See world? Not a complete failure.

:D

Isi, you seem to think the world thinks you're a complete failure. We don't, we know you're awesome ^_^ *hugs*

Thanks for posting this. I'd had a long day and I was utterly exhausted and, considering I hadn't officially signed up for NaNo, was debating whether or not it was worth the sleep deprivation.

After reading this, I cracked open a Word document, and am currently on 700 words. I'm struggling to stay awake and the passage isn't particularly decent, but it's SOMETHING.

So just...thanks for keeping me motivated with this. =]

Aw, I'm glad I motivated you. We can do this! And something, anything, is always better than nothing. I'm actually finding the focus on quantity of words rather than quality of words really pretty liberating. I'm not going to rewrite or edit anything at all I think this month - just pure writing.

Final word count at midnight last night was 1720. Struggling again tonight, but that's half the fun...right? =]

Oh ye gods, do I know the feeling. *sigh* I am so behind on everything I need to do, and managed to miss a meeting with the head of societies to talk about our society accounts because I was reading a book this morning. *facepalm*

Yay for NaNo though! It is getting the words down that is important and I'm so proud you have put some down! I have only 132 myself, but hopefully tomorrow I will make more time and become inspired and write some more. :) I need to shut off my internal editor, it is a terrible thing.

I am glad today was a good day. :D I love you.

Today, there are about 10 things on my list of things to do. If I manage 5 that will be, like, epic win. But against all sanity, the Nano is the top priority. I don't need food or clean crockery nearly as much as I need to reach that purple line, and get rid of that unfair accusation that today is so far an "unsuccessful day". Like hell it will be. I'll show you, judgemental Nano stats. My internal editor is actually dead, or possibly I have driven them to resign, but I am finding this quantity rather than quality thing seriously liberating. It's wonderful.

Love you too! Today let's both have good days, yeah? :) xxx

Also we should have a word war. WORD WARS ARE AMAZING.

I don't know what that is, but it sounds scary. I'm finding this whole Nano thing terrifying enough right now, do I really think starting a war is a good idea?! D:

...um, hi. Er. Of course *I'm* not mad at *you*.

But I was rather assuming you were mad at me. Um. You aren't?
