Good things

I have had a good couple of days, including:

1. A plot bunny that is actually inspiring me to write fic, which I haven't done for ages and ages
2. Six free periods yesterday and four today [and five tomorrow!]
3. Discovering how much I love Nightwish
4. Shopping. I know, I know, but I got some cute stuff.

and, probably best of all

5. Tickets for a Simon Amstell gig!!

Old Nightwish, with Tarja, or current Nightwish, with Annette? I adore Tarja era Nightwish, but I haven't really warmed up to Anette's voice.

Bits of both-- I liked or loved all the Nightwish I've heard so far, not that that is a huge amount, but whatevs. I do like Tarja's soaring voice, but currently probably prefer Anette overall. But of course, my favourite member is Tuomas :D If its anything to do with him I'll give it a shot.

Tell me what you like about Annette! I'm so lukewarm on her; I never quite got over Tarja leaving. Maybe if you sing her praises, I'll like her too!

I saw Nightwish in concert once. Amazing stuff. Tarja has great stage presence.

Well, I give her points first of all for not trying to be another Tarja; it would have been far more annoying if they got someone trying to be exactly the same. I like Anette's voice and her style and what she looks like. I like how she seems excited and happy to be performing in videos; Tarja, while beautiful, seems a little cold, a little distant. It's still gorgeous of course, but in a different way, like she's acting and Anette is more there.

And Tarja did lose points in my book for leaving in the first place, so Anette gets more praise for stepping in. Anyone that keeps Tuomas' genius flowing is excellent.

Plus, my friends went to one of her first UK Nightwish concerts and they said that she was really genuinely grateful that she was received so well, so that makes me happy also. They're going to their last one in this country for a while (and planning to chain themselves to the front and somehow touch Tuomas; good luck to them) and I'm worried that I'm going to get really into them just when they go back to Finland D:

Tarja didn't actually leave. The band kicked her out in a very public and, quite honestly, very distasteful manner. I still love Nightwish, but they lost major points for bringing their private disagreements public in such an ugly and childish manner. Tarja didn't even know she was kicked out until the band posted their letter to her on their website, a move the band confirmed.

Annette definitely seems happy to be there though.

Golly. How did you get them? Did one of your undeniably attractive friends manage to type in her credit card details at the speed of light, thus procuring for you and her an evening of fun, fun, fun, before all the tickets sold out?

She sounds great. I would love to be meet her.

She is great; a fast typist, good sense of humour and of course very pretty. Her one flaw is occassionally talking about herseslf in the third person, but that can be overlooked in light in her many other qualities.
