I am so glad that its finally saturday- the last few days have dragged on so much. Tonighs Doctor Who, Human Nature, looks immense, and its a two parter, thank god, which are much better simply because they can go into more detail.
What I'm really excited about today is the sheer diference of these episodes- its not Doctor and Martha appeaer, realise something is wrong and save some lives. Ok, so something is clearly very wrong, but the Doctor isn't the Doctor any more and Martha is struggling to help his human half survive. There isn't really a Doctor when he's needed- a very interesting concept for the title character to not really be entirely there. Also, JOhn Smith falls in love again, thankfully not with Martha, but I think this will be a great set of episodes because I think he might finally get over Rose, or at least, get a little more closure on the issue, while also allowing Martha real space to grow as a character- her baptism is very much over. I hope his falling in love is played to the riht amount- it can be hard knowing that a large section of the "target" audience is young boys that might think is a bit mushy, while other bits of the audience barely blink at the monsters and care ar more about how the characters react to the situation and to each other. But since its a two parter, it should e good- aside from Rose, the two best falling in love themes have only been one episode long- the beautiul Madame Pompadour, and the stunning Captain Jack Harkness. So they should be able to get it right since theres more time- and more time for the Doctor to fall in love anyway, because he's there for months, not just hours. I hope that this helps with Rose, because then when Jack comes back that will be a great thing- because Rose is clearly not there, and thats a great moment and will definitely come up with the whole being left behind thing, and Martha meeting Jack will be great, really awesome. All I'm saying though, is that Jack better damn well kiss the Doctor- John and David: so much hotnes in one place!
Its ridiculous actually how bouncy I am right now the two weeks between The Lazarus Experiment and 42 just flashed passed, I didn't mind the Eurovision bump because Lazarus was so good and I didn't really have any assumptions about 42. But this last week has lasted months! All the energy I really didn't have yesterday seems to be here now and I can't stop grinning and bouncing around! So so glad its saturday! God I'm so so so excited!!!
We're in the home straight for season 3 now- theres this two parter of excellence, then Blink that is meant to be quite scary and really good, and then finally Utopia and the return of Jack, and then we get to Mr Saxon in the last two- The Sound of Drums and The Last of the Time Lords. So excited!!
I'm trying to use this excess of energy to focus and get some good revision done today, considering I basically didd none yesterday and not much the day before *feels guilty*
