MERLIN: eh, probably Merlin himself. Because Colin Morgan is so beautiful... and because he is magical... No, I mean, those things are both things I appreciate, but really, Merlin because he really does try hard, and never gives up, and puts up with so much, and doesn’t really want much for himself. And often I can think such character are 2D suckers, but Merlin is just so endlessly endearing.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK:) argh Mark or Wardo, Mark or Wardo... ok fine. Mark. Wardo is a sweetheart and I love him, but it’s Mark that is endlessly fascinating. Still. There are so many angles and ways you can interpret his character, what he did, whether he’s a hero or a villain, a genius or a dickhead. Whether he’s deep or shallow, focussed or one dimensional, purposefully cruel and hurtful or strong enough to do what needs to be done. At the end of the film, has he won or lost? So yeah. Mark Mark Mark.

THE DEMON’S LEXICON: Argh this is impossible. I genuinely love every single character. Every. Single. One. The amazing character work is probably the thing I adore most about SRB’s writing, it’s just brilliant, I cannot praise it highly enough. The main characters, the villains, the minor characters, they are all highly realised individuals. And I love them all.

My instinct was to say Seb though. Because I am apparently one of the few that love and support Seb. Can I have Seb and Sin though? Because Sin is awesome awesome awesome. One of my favourite ladies ever. But Seb needs hugs slightly more urgently. I wrote a whole bunch about why I love Seb and ship Jamie/Seb over here, if you are interested. It basically boils down to awww my bb Seb. But yes, I also have absolute MAD LOVE for Jamie, Alan, Nick, Sin, Mae, ANZU OMG, Liannan! Gerald! And um. Also everybody else. There is a character named after meeeee! ALL OF THE CHARACTERS. I LOVE ALL OF THE CHARACTERS.

Doctor Who: Oh FFS how am I meant to chooooose. Eff everything, I’m picking Sally Sparrow AND YOU CAN’T STOP ME. SHE IS THE MOST EXCELLENT. Oh and also. That guy that Colin Morgan played in Midnight. He was cool.

1. Marmfish 

I am a marmfish! The marmfish are a delightful group of Sarah Rees Brennan fans, and they have brought me some of my absolute best friends. So. Yay!

2. Writing

Oh dear, I really ought to be working on my Nano... Writing is my real passion. I’ve wanted to be an author for as long as I can remember, and even before I could write I would play at making books. I don’t know if I’ll ever be good enough – sometimes I think I’m absolutely awful, sometimes I look at other stuff and think, I can definitely do better than this – but I don’t think I’ll ever stop trying. Despite all the procrastination, I love it, and it’s the best feeling in the world.

Oh another note, it’s sorta weird sometimes, that online basically everyone I hang out with and talk to writes creatively in some way or another, and doing something like Nano really brings that home to you, and yet out there offline hardly anyone seems to. It’s strange sometimes, moving from it being mainstream to niche like that.

3. Politics

Ahaha oh dear oh dear yes. So, I have an interest in politics. At moment it has eased off from straight up obsession a little, but this isn’t the first time and I expect next year, with the US election coming up, I’ll be jumping in up to my eyeballs again soon enough.

I tend to have some of the least easily categorised politics I know. Basically, if we’re talking labels, I’m (at the moment!) socially liberal, fiscally conservative, euroskeptic, feminist, royalist. Yeah, I know right. I’m generally strongly in favour of the traditional British constitution and some socialist ideas make me very uncomfortable. I’m still rather angry with the utter car crash that New Labour turned out to be and expect I’ll hold this grudge for a while... yet I am still a big Yvette Cooper fan, so when (not if) she stands I’ll certainly be tempted to vote for her Currently, I’m vaguely with the Conservative party over here but... that is subject to change. Obviously in US terms I am a Democrat supporter. IDK it makes sense to me.

4. Starbucks

Mmmmm Starbucks. Is my spiritual home. There’s one just up the road from my house and I just love it for its comfort and deliciousness. It’s definitely my favourite chain coffee house, and always cheers me up. I know it’s like, a huge corporation that destroys independent shops and brainwashes us into liking meh quality coffee but WHATEVER I just love it. I have spent hours quietly reading or writing on my own, or chatting and laughing with friends, with Starbucks.

5. DARREN CRISS

IS COMPLETE AND UTTER PERFECTION. Oh my god I love him so so much. HAHA I just remembered that I he was in my dream last night! But seriously. Everything he does is love and wonderful and perfect. And I got to see him perform twice last summer – at Glee live, and at his own gig – and yeah. Best ever at everything. So much love and appreciation. I truly adore him.
