 Ryan Gosling is insanely hot.

I went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love and among other things I left with a lot of appreciation for him. Jesus CHRIST there should be some kind of warning.

Also, everybody should see this film. It has Emma Stone being awesome. I don't actually care if she's a natural blonde I think she looks amazing as a redhead. It has Julianne Moore being beautiful and delicate and subtle. It has Steve Carell being heartbreaking and also Steve Carell being hilarious. Oh yeah and. It has Ryan Gosling being gorgeous and lovely and touching and beautiful and charming and just so so attractive.

It is a film that I found at times to be poignant, sexy, romantic, adorable, heartbreaking and hysterical. It has a male makeover scene. Go see it.

Does anyone have an opinion on tablet computers? I don't know whether to ask for one for my birthday. I can't really tell whether they are awesome or a waste of time. I'm vaguely consider 7" models. I don't know.

Glee has started again. I'm cautiously optimistic, because while this weeks seems to have been a bad episode, ie problematic and kinda stupid, but frankly much better than other bad episodes of Glee. Does that make sense? I'm hoping the general standard has risen. For example, Mercedes has got a plotline! It's not exactly stellar. But I'm still happy she's got one. Mike Chang had lines! And he and Tina are still dating. And the endless glee spoilers over at Tumblr have suggested some interesting things to come. So. Yeah. Here's hoping.

My first laptop was a school-issued tablet; it was an ornery, piece of crap Gateway and I always had to bring it in for repairs, but I miss the tablet part immensely. The ability to draw and take notes notwithstanding, because that was awesome, I enjoyed just being able to read fic in tablet mode, like some early edition Kindle or something :D:D

This was, like, five years ago, though, so I have no idea what the quality of today's tablets are :/

I'm not huge on the drawing, because I'm basically terrible at all fine art forms, but essentially I just want something I can write on, and look at the internet on, and maybe read ebooks and listen to music and watch videos on, that I can fit in a handbag and comfortably carry around. I think iPads are too big and overpriced and kinda stupid though. So not one of those. But maybe a knock off version IDK. Kindles look neat, but I don't really get why they only do one thing, lol. But essentially I'm wondering about getting a small tablet PC instead of bothering with a smartphone, which was the original plan.

I want a tablet purely so I can have some form of entertainment/email checking/etc during the gaps between lectures. Either that or to use on the sofa when I get a place of my own and inevitably replace the laptop with a desktop :P

And while it's true that it's good that some of the minor Glee characters are getting plot... Why does Mercedes have to be such a bitch in her parts? :/

I basically want a tablet just because I now think my 10" eee netbook is too big. Which I say to people and they think I'm crazy. Particularly my brother, who has now done the laptop --> mega amazing desktop switch over you speak of, and finds the concept that I want something smaller absolutely baffling. But I want something with internet and typing capabilities that is smaller and lighter that I can carry around in my handbag. So I'm considering getting a small tablet instead of a smartphone, basically. But I'm not completely sold. IDK. Maybe I should just get a new netbook battery and get stronger.
(I also feel the pressure to ask for a reasonably expensive tech piece present for my birthday, but clearly I can't actually choose what I want. There's still Christmas to come of course, but in my family that's more a chance for a range of small gifts ie a stack of books.)

They've never really known what to do with Mercedes. I'm hoping it will get better. But yeah, honestly, getting her a plotline at all is totally progress. Ridiculously.

I'm totally with you on the not-knowing-what-to-ask-for-for-presents thing, though. Mum keeps asking me what I want for my birthday, and to be perfectly honest, the only thing I want, aside from the usual list of books the length of my arm, is kind of out of her price range :P A new car would be amazing, though. One with power steering!

Have you not seen The Notebook? I knew Ryan Gosling was amazingly attractive from the second I saw it, which was probably a few years ago now :P

Glee is getting better in terms of plotlines. You'll be pleased to hear Mike Chang actually gets one a few eps in! :D

I haven't, but I totally want to now. Oh my god though. He is actually amazing. I want to watch CSL again right now. So so gorgeous.

Yeah, I'm up to date on Glee - Asian F was the ep I meant was problematic and kinda stupid, but a better standard of bad than the bad of previous seasons.

I definitely recommend it, it's absolutely gorgeous!

Haha yeah, at least it wasn't as bad as Grilled Cheesus!
