~ My new debit card FINALLY arrived! I went straight to Amazon and bought a couple of YA fantasy type books to celebrate, and am thinking of enjoying the freedom to get a couple of other things as well maybe. Any recs?

~ Tomorrow I am going to London to see John Barrowman in La Cage Aux Folles. Excited!

~ The day after is Waters of Mars! EXCITED!!!

~ I watched Glee 1x09 Wheels this morning, and it was definitely the best episode yet. Plus, the last ep of Heroes continued to be decent. Whereas with House, I was left whimpering. Because I loved it that is. Oh Chase.

~ But, hats off to FlashForward, which I swear was just. So. Good. That episode not only effected my emotional balance for the entire day, but looking back now it still is. For something so simple, so obvious, be so devastating and so incredibly uplifting simultaneously, is real beauty right there. Absolutely superb, and I need to tell everyone, EVERYONE should be watching this show. It's not complicated, its just oh so compelling and powerful. And oh my god, I love that so much. It is all I want from a show, and its crafted slowly with love. Also, how many British people are in it? Like, crazy. Dude. WATCH FLASHFORWARD YOU GUYS.

~ I have had another idea for a book. Yes, another one. And yesterday, I hestitantly wrote a page or so of the idea I said I definitely wouldn't be writing until I had either finished a proper draft of Imlie's Garden or gave up on it, so that's... huh. And, I had a horrible moment where I went "oh God, is Shades too much like Merlin?" Because, um, it has a magical boy, and a royal court, and I dunno, now I type that it seems really stupid because actually, unless Merlin develops very strangely they really aren't much alike at all. Beyond both involving a magical boy in a quite undefined fantasy past and a royal court... and ok, the boy has a mentor and there's a king and a princess and her maid as other main characters BUT I PROMISE ACTUALLY THEY AREN'T AT ALL SIMILAR. God. Has anyone else ever had that kinda insecurity, where you, the person writing, or with the idea, know it really isn't like something else, but its hard to get across how they are different when some things are on paper at least seem similar backdrop? The new idea I had a moment ago was the first time I've ever wanted to write about vampires. And yes, a teenage girl. BUT NO, IT ISN'T BLOODY TWILIGHT, geeez.

And now, I must get some dinner.

OH GOSH I FORGOT WATERS OF MARS IS COMING UP. As for Glee, TOTALLY SOBBED AT THE END. SUE IS JUST. SHE JERKS ME AROUND WHEN IT COMES TO LOVING HER, BUT IN THE END, EVEN WITH BEGRUDGINGLY, I WILL SAY YES. And, you know, Kurrrrrrt.

And writing writing writing. I'm doing NaNoWriMo (15k in... SO BEHIND) and it's pretty much Twilight with a Bella who has REAL FRIENDS and is USEFUL despite her negative thoughts about herself and she's on a college campus and with werewolves instead of sparklefairies. That's all I can see in my mind even though I KNOW that they aren't the same. D: As I told one friend, it feels like it's Twilight gone to the dogs.

I just watched the last two Flashforwards (watching them recorded with my family, and dad was out of town last week so we just got to them now), and you were totally right about the last episode. So very very good! I'm loving everything with Demetri.

Your NaNo sounds waaay better than Twilight. Which, ok, isn't much of a complement, but still :P (Uh, hai nu frend - you'll get to know my weird relationship with Twilight...) I love that moment just before November starts when I confirm that, yep, not gonna try to do NaNo this year either, so I at least don't have that additional stress on top of everything else. But, those of you brave enough (foolish Gryffindors, the lot) I salute you! I mean, in theory, I am writing several (TWO, DAMNNIT, JUST TWO) books, but no November deadline.

I adore Glee, and Sue is OUTSTANDING. Jane Lynch better get an Emmy nod, though of course Sue would accept nothing less than winning.

AND WATERS OF MARS HAS TOTALLY SNUCK UP ON ME, the fiend. Oh David... I thought I'd got over him leaving and I bet this just makes me regress to the equivalent of the sobbing toddler clutching her parents legs and begging them not to leave the house... Tchuh. Which is silly, because I love Matt Smith, so part of me is like, hurry up already! *shakes head* I am very confused. BUT, very excited too!

No worries, I believe I'm the same way about Twilight. I love it because it's... kinda vampires. And the werewolf lore! But there's so much wrong that I can't take it as a serious piece of literature. 200 years into the future and our progeny will be studying it in a historical literature class going "WHY DID THEY THINK THIS WAS GOOD?!" It's 3/4th exposition when it really ought not to be.

This is my first NaNo and I'm... pleasantly surprised how well I'm doing. I slack off during the week at points, but I've not yet gotten writers block (knock on wood) and I can shoot out 3-5k a night when I need to catch up. I've never finished a long novel like this before, never even made it past the planning stages, but apparently I do well with minimum word counts and a deadline and... structure. I'll be every editors dream if I'm ever published. I will never ask for extentions because I've got it finished when I'm supposed to! Hahaha.

And I'm not brave for doing NaNo, I'm ambtious. ;)

Glee is tempting me to get into the fandom. I'm trying to resist, I am. It's bad enough that Harry/Draco will forever have it's talons in me, but.... I said no high school fandoms since it's a bit squicky when I read about underaged characters. But.... The cast. So pretty. And poking my nose around makes me realize that there's ACTUALLY a good femslash community for it! So tempting....

I think that they should have their special next year be "The Three Doctors" with 9, 10, and 11. That'd be so much fun. :D But little nerdy Matt Smith will be wonderful. I'm hopeful. I will never let off hoping that Donna returns because I love her so dearly and I was depressed for a week after Children of Earth. I cried the night I saw it. She's who I've always wanted to grow up to be (sadly I'm not ginger and my complexion can't handle it very well. Sadface.)
