I was intending to make a general post about my life, but there has been so much SRB stuff recently I thought Id just give it a whole post of its own :D
So first, there was the read through chat session, where I, fellow marmalade fish and Sarah herself all sat down and chatted and read all the way through the book, and she even gave us a special cookie from the sequel! Guys, I WAS IN THAT CHATROOM FOR TWELVE HOURS STRAIGHT. I am not even kidding, from 4pm til 4am. I was such a total zombie the next day, as if I'd been clubbing, but it was so totally worth it. I had so much fun and made some lovely new friends and would so totally do it all again, in an instant. It was also like a huge great plotbunny farm. When I have time, after my exams, I am soooo going to write a whole bunch more TDL fic, I have so many ideas :D
And then, it was the book signing, which was SO FUN. I met up with laliandra and hanelissar who it turned out I had actually met before! We made our way to the venue, and we left a bit of time for getting lost but actually found it quite easily so we were a bit early. We took some photos of the giant poster/UK cover of Nick, and of some cool knife like graffiti before we went in.
There were still setting up but were nice and more people turned up soon, including Sarah herself of course. I got some cool badges and postcards and met some more cool people, particularly when, after getting our books signed (and, um, my shipping chart *cough* :P), we found playwithfyr who was a little bit, um, keen to find fellow marmalade fish! We made a sign and attracted more fish to our, um, school I guess, and then got some group photos with Sarah.
I stayed for the raffle (which I didn't win but my ticket was quite close, just not close enough, alas!) but not for the film because ACK exams I needed to get home and revise (it was quite unusual for me to make it at all in exam period except you know, I could, and I knew it would be brilliant, this fandom is so nice and fun, and it really was) :D :D So four of us left at the same time, pausing briefly for more photos with the knife graffiti, which we noticed had an "n" on it, how amazing! And also, photos with a giant blue wheel thing that I suppose was a piece of art but really was just too cool.
And, just now, I have discovered and joined mailmalade_fish which is such a cool idea! I can't wait til its my turn!
I said this fandom was gonna rock!
