Backing up LJ?

Um... does anybody know how to do this?

Everybody seems to be in a mild panic and I am confused. Could anyone please explain and help me out?

I have links for one, both what's going on with lj (long story short: it's possible that lj may end up eventually spinning into a death-spiral, the first obvious sign of which was them firing half their staff, but none of it would be immediate and there's no need to start panicking as yet) and where to get both the software and step-by-step instructions for backing up your lj depending on whether you have a Mac or use Windows here.

I just did it! Didn't even take five minutes. When you follow those links, I recommend using LJ Archive. It's great.
