So I saw the Bloggess saying how boring and Kardashian infested Barbara Walters' most interesting people of 2011 list is, and she was suggesting an alternate list. I thought that would make a cool meme, the dinner party guests with a spin of who has been eye catching and happy making in particular this year.

So, in no particular order, the 11 people from 2011 I would invite to a dinner party are:

Darren Criss
Emma Stone
Jesse Eisenberg
Caitlin Moran
George RR Martin
JK Rowling
Chris Hughes
Victoria Coren
Ryan Gosling
Maureen Johnson
and Rob, from The Great British Bakeoff.

Would you want to come to this party? Who would you invite to yours?

 Because I'm still procrastinating, clearly.

MEMES!

Reply with "and while we're at it, SANDIES ISN'T A NUDE BEACH EITHER" and I'll give you four fandoms.
Write about your favourite character from each fandom.

Merlin, The Social Network, The Demon's Lexicon and Doctor Who )

Comment to this post, and I will list five things I associate with you. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back to me). Other people (including me) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

~ Let's Kill Hitler finally went out (longest 12 days ever?!) so I can actually talk about it now without fear I'll accidentally say something spoilery. WHAT DID YOU GUYS THINK?? As I said before, my actual favourite moments were a) flashback Amy/Rory, the terror in Rory's eyes, oh bless, that is a feeling I know very well and b) the Doctor's talking to the voice interface inside the TARDIS, both how he reacts to images of Rose and Donna and particularly lovely, wonderful and much maligned Martha, and the hologram of Amelia insisting he will be dead in 32 minutes. Plus, I am really loving the evolution of Rory, the badassery not removing the adorableness. Actually, I am shipping Amy/Rory way harder than ever before now - the way they said "I love you" when they thought they would die awwwwwwww AMAZING.

I wonder if/when the BFI will post the Q&A session.

~ I GOT MY POTTERMORE EMAIL. It is cool in there you guys. I am in absolutely no rush to get through it or anything, so I have mainly been hanging out making potions thus far and adoring the extra bits of insight and backstory that I've got to so far. I was so freaking relieved to be sorted into Slytherin you have no idea - I worried at one point that I might come across as a Ravenclaw (uh, no offence Ravenclaws) and was like, if I don't get into Slytherin I shall cry all the tears. But I did. THANK YOU POTTERMORE.

~ I drank lots of cocktails with various people. That was nice :)

~ I fell into really liking My Chemical Romance. There I was, watching their set at Reading and appreciating Gerard's red hair, which is either pretty much or exactly the same bright red as Benjamin Cook's btw, getting Play to telling me who these people are (despite me actually having read fic featuring them in the past) and then IDEK I noticed that Mikey Way is very hot and now I am listening to albums and reading fic and looking for interviews? It's pretty fun :D

~ Most of the books I am taking on holiday turned up. (Did I mention I am about to go on holiday?) I am just about managing not to read them yet, but I have not managed to resist opening the packaging and stroking them a little bit. Still waiting on two.

~ A VERY POTTER THREEQUEL IS CONFIRMED AND HAPPENING with Darren onboard and everything!!! YOU GUYS, WE'RE GOING BACK. This is totally why he said he was growing his hair out again. I am very happy and excited.

How is everyone?

Oh my goodness, he really, really is.

So I went to see his gig yesterday, and was left a wreck of a human being but insanely happy and completely unable to properly express all the emotions he made me feel omg. This morning... I still feel kinda wrecked actually. But I'm gonna give coherent sentences a shot.

I witnessed perfection )

Christ but he's perfect.

 *crawls in*

Hi, internet!

I just got back from spending the weekend in France, and in the days preceding that I had Glee, a picnic, punting and Pimms trip... it is a busy time! pretty knackered right now, but DARREN CRISS ON WEDNESDAY OMG OMG.

Yay :D

****

Lal asked me these questions:

1. How did you discover fandom?
2. What do you want from S3 of Glee?
3. What fictional character do you most identify with?
4. Can you convince me why ~TDS SHIPPING SPOILER~ is endgame?
5. Where in the world would you like to live, if you live anywhere?

altogetherisi: (YAY ohmygod kermit)
OK, well, if you follow me on Twitter you may have noticed that today I received and read The Demon's Surrender!

I was really rather excited. BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME AND HEART WRENCHING AND CRAZY AND FUNNY AND BRILLIANT.

No spoilers here - long spoilery post sometime soon probably. But for now, just - YAY! I am happy to have it, and happy with what it contains :D

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. OH MY GOD I REALLY LOVE THIS BOOK. YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS. IT IS SO GOOD.

Other posts I keep meaning to write include
- I went to Hay festival (it was lovely)
- I made this playlist fanmix thing (it is very long)
- I saw X-Men First Class (and have all these feeeeelings)
- Doctor Who was pretty damn good. Oh Moff, such a genius writer.

Oh yeah and.

Totally going to see Darren Criss! \o/

I'm home! I spent Friday in the office, and now so far I'm spending Saturday in bed glorying in the internet.

My friends were on University Challenge again. Watch it before the iPlayer deletes them!

And now, some thoughts on what went down in Glee 2x14 Blame It On The Alcohol.

There were no thoughts written about 2x13 because it was shit and confirmed for me that I don't care for Sam and that was about the extent of my reaction. But. 2x14.

There are spoilers for the ep in this post )

Anyway, so. The whole Kurt, Blaine and Rachel storyline.

I'll start with Blaine )

Well, I can't be mad at Blaine for long, he's too lovely.

It's all about Rachel )

Poor Kurt )

So, to sum up - this storyline was strange, ultimately a bit pointless and involved everyone acting in a hurtful and ignorant manner, and no one really grew as a character, except possibly Blaine but actually not really.

The acting was awesome though.

Kurt's dad attitude to his son's as yet hypothetical sex life )

Other things that I remember thinking about during this episode:

Lol I recognise this song from Johnny Weir fandom.

I don't really like Sam anymore, but thought his hair looked good ruffled after kissing Brittany. I choose to believe that Santana wanted him off Brittany as much as she wanted Brittany off Sam. Need more Brittana! Or Santtany, as she said on that lolarious five way phone convo.

I just don't like Artie, he's a tool.

GIVE MERCEDES A STORYLINE.

Lol crushed Oreos.

You people really need to understand that being single doesn't mean your life is empty and meaningless and you must be miserable.

Seriously, what are wine coolers?

All the songs were boring.

Darren Criss is basically perfection.
